My first e-trac hunt today..

Two locations I had previously detected,my yard and my mother in-law's yard.I found 4 pennies in my yard, the dirt is not all that good. But in my mother in law's yard I found 3 quarters,2 dimes and 6 pennies,2 of them wheat. The dirt in her yard is a whole lot better. I kept in on factory settings...my deepest find was around 4 inches. Do I need to adjust the settings to get deeper finds or just keep the factory settings? I am so glad I got the battery situation straightned out. I am very excited about tomorrow too! Btw, I was detecting about 2 hours in my yard and about an 1 1/2 in my in-laws yard...before it got too dark. Thanks guys!

About the depth, in short the answer is no. The suggested sensitivity (running in Auto) will let you know how good the soil is. If you're in the low teens, then you're getting into some good mineralization. I know 8+ inches isn't any real problem in the upper teens and so on.

Congratulations on the finds.

if you want to test it bury a dime in the ground and play with it,,,

NebTrac is right, the E-trac run deep right out of the box. Its better to run it that way until you learn it a little more. You going to love this machine, I sold mine about 2 months ago and replaced it with another brand. Well it didn't take long to get one back.

Happy Hunting! Rick
