Very different kind of detector. I just turned it on and hit Smart Screen and detected.

I Have a Lot to learn.

Thanks for all the attempted help you gave on a different post.
Minelabs are great, just not great for everyone.

Howdy XLT

Only one hunt and you gave up? Thats the shortest love story I have ever read.

Yep, might be an error on my part..but a first impression with a detector is lasting, and you always wonder when it doesn't feel right. Not my first Rodeo, and decided it wasn't for me.

LOL.... you didnt read my post on my RULE did ya? The biggest thing for me coming from the DFX was slowing down. I really found the potentional in this machine and i dont even have the Pro coil. I wish you luck, but like you said you have to feel comfortable with what you are using.

I also went from the XLT to the explorer SE with the pro coil. I agree its a totally different animal. Like everyone said go slow I found allot of stuff in my backyard that my Garrett gta 1000 and the XLT left behind. Give it some time don't give up so quick.

I hated the machine when i purchased it... The tones where different,,, i thought i just wasted 1200 dollars... i gave it three weeks and i fell in love with it when i started going to a really really hard hunted park and i was pulling silver dimes and wheat cent at 12 to 13 inches deep that i know for a fact others have been across many times.... You shouldn't gave up soo quick,,, Maybe your uncle will sell it back to you in a couple months lol j/k Well good luck
