New member
Hello everyone

Just got my first metal detector Excalibur 11 1000 went to the beach and found some coins went out for 2 hours
trying to learn the machine found 1 quarter 2 nickels 1 penny i guess that's not bad for your first time. and only 1 bottle cap
well hope to post more next time, and my the lord richly bless you all in all your finds take care,
Tom

Welcome to the forum Tom. Not bad for your first outing and you'll find the addiction just gets worse the more you find.

Congrats on your first outing. It may be frustrating at first trying to learn the detector and finding trash, but you will find lots of coins and jewelry in a matter of time. I have an Excal for water and a Sovereign for land and they are great machines. I found my first gold ring in a playground about two months after I started and I've had the gold bug since. That was about 7-8 years ago.

Many blessings to you

Frank

some of us snow bound people wish we could get out and find what you found :)

You have a great machine. I have an :minelab: Explorer II and still learning but getting better every time I get out with it.

God bless you too.

Sounds like you are off to a good start. You will learn something new each time out and be an old pro in no time, steve in so az

Congrats on the first hunt. Where is home for you?
God bless.

Mike

Welcome to the Forum Tom and keep on getting out and learning your new detector, as it takes a while to learn how your machine reacts to the different beeping sounds! You will get better and better, if you don't give up, and soon you will find gold and then, alas, you'll have the gold fever and be more than a Treasure Addict and the only cure is more :detecting: ! God Bless! Betty

Great job, Happy Hunting

Welcome to the forum Tom -
I got my Detector a year ago - so am passing on a few tips that helped me.
Make sure you don't have your detector coil too high off the ground -
Learn to listen to your signal tone - experiment on items you are hoping to find (like gold & silver) so you know what they sound like.
Research - if you're looking for historical stuff it is important to know what was going on where and when
God be with you, and may this year be full of many fantastic firsts!

Nice avatar. In my opinion, the Morgan silver dollar is the most beautiful coin ever minted in the world.
