My first Indian Head slightly damaged

The head phones I ordered from Kellyco were at the house when I arrived back from work on Friday. Tried them out for a few minutes yesterday and found this in the yard next door in the soil surrounding a recent tree removal. It's a 1903 Indian Head that looks to have been shot with a .22 round. Likely a lead short since long rifle rounds normally punch through. A great find for me and you have to wonder just when this might have occurred. I've found very old .22 short cases around the properties already buried deep in the sandy soil. The head phones really help and a pretty comfortable.

Very interesting find!

Someone must have stuck it into a crevice of the bark of the tree that was removed and took a shot at it with a 22 rifle.

I know what happened to that penny... Back in the old days there was an lady named Anny Oakley. From Ohio. She was a sharp shooter with a 22 rifle. Yep.. Thats who shot your Indian... KEN

well it's an interesting find. Yea, somewhat damaged. Better than hitting it with the blade of the digger like I did on the most valuable one I ever found.
