Found an Infantry button and the wife found what we think is a cane tip? Its marked Issac Smith maker of New York plus some other flat buttons, suspender buckles, harmonica reid...etc.... Good day today! Heading back tomorrow ... hopefully more goodies will come out!

Will post better pictures tomorrow!!

Nice finds!!! The 1 piece I button is killer. I'll be the 1st to ask, what coil were you using?.....

It was the 3hkz coil it registered a 28 on the ferrous side

Thanks, We hope we have good luck tomorrow too.. lol
So you gonna be at the meeting Sept. 9th? You been hunting lately? You should come hunting with us sometime.. Give us a call sometime. We'll get together.

The button is very nice. And that cane tip is awesome! Nice to see others enjoying the 3 kHz coil. In regard to what you called "28 on the ferrous side".............TID numbers less than zero (negative numbers -2 through -8 ) are commonly referred to as ferrous readings. However on the positive side, numbers +2 through +48 are considered non-ferrous. (typically referred to as conductive). With a reading of 28, your's is considered to be well into the conductive range of targets. And with a TID of 28, I'd say it is most likely cast brass. Regardless, congrats on some nice recoveries. HH Randy

Thanks Randy... Your right I meant non-ferrous I wasn't paying attention to what I was typing. Yeah we bother have the 3 coil and love it... Went to the same site todaqy found a few more good things.. a friend found a SC cuff button and a Infantry button. Dug a few flat buttons, a shot 3 ringer, thimbles, a spencer shell casing, and the thing in the picture below we have no idea what it is. maybe someone can identify it..lol
