I had such a good day I want to make my first find posting. I am using an Explorer II bought about 5 years ago.
I stopped by an old home in my neighborhood after work and got permission to hunt 2 homes owned by the same person. Old map shows homes there in 1931.
My first find was an 1900 Indian Head at 4 inches. Then came a 1911 V nickel and another Indian Head dated 1899. Then another V nickel dated 1910. I was hoping for some silver soon and wanted some Barber. Finally got that sweet sound and up came a 1901 Barber dime! Then got a double sweet sound and found another Barber dated 1916 and the second dime beside this one was a 1918 Mercury.
The total finds for this yard were: 2 Barber dimes, 1 Mercury, 2 V nickels, 1 Buffalo, 1939 Jefferson 4 Indian heads 1899 1900 1905 1906. 6 Wheaties 1910 1911 1912 1914 1942 and 1953d. Found an old mood ring as well. This was for 3 hours of hunting.
This was only the front yard of 1 of the homes. The back yard is 3 times larger. I will definitely go back and find the rest of the goodies!!
My wife is on vacation and took the camera so cannot provide pictures at this time.
