Thanks to all: I have enjoyed this forum for close to a year and greatly value the info shared. The C$ is my first detector, and I've often heard comments with regards to CZ users (and others) having a rough road with the C$'s disposition. My question is: would I have similar difficulty changing to another detector after only using the C$? I enjoy the C$ and would like to add a unit less susceptable to RF.
I used the 10.5" coil for the first 6 mos. switching to the stock 8" for the past 6. I don't notice a loss in depth, but less radial sensitivity, making for a sharper more confined target area. The 8" is lighter, I can swing faster, longer, and pinpoints finer and is better when I run upon a trashy spot. I often run 8-00, iron disc about half throttle, no notches. I run thresh to 01, GB, then back thresh to 00, I can't say the performance is better, I just like the crisper audio. Thanks again to all and I hope to learn to post pix. (half the fun of finding is sharing)

Glad you have been enjoying the forum....it actually has seemed to have really picked up since the Excel "merger" <img src="/metal/html/blush.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":redface"> It should get even better when us in the North melt & can post finds again! <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
You posed an interesting question. As you pointed out, folks who used a CZ for years have a tough time picking up the C$. In your case, you leaned the C$ first, & had nothing else to fall back on, which was good. I know what you saying about RF. Luckily it has rarely bothered me where I hunt. I would think that getting another unit wouldn't be so hard an adjustment. In my opinion, the Coin$trike is the hardest unit to learn of the Fisher line. If you went with say a 1236x I think you'd pick it up pretty fast. It's a darn good unit for the $$. Pretty much a turn on & go, without all the flashy numbers, tones, etc.... HH, Bill
