My first T2

I have all ways had GARRETT detectors,they are good detectors buy im looking for a little more depth,is it true that the
T2 can dig to 15 inches?I my self dont think so may be 8 -9 inches well we will have to see,any pointers for me how good is the disc,whats the best way to set it up..THANKS guys and forum..........

i like mine but i have yet to find any thing deep with it. of course every place i've hunted i had pounded with the sovereign so maybe nothing deep was left.

LS Hunter, like you I was a Garrett user for years. My preferred detector was a GTI-2500 and it remains an excellent detector. That said, I have been using a T2 for almost two years now, it became my preferred detector after only two outings. The T2 does go deep. Over the summer I found an 1837 half dime almost 7 inches deep. The half dime is a very small and very thin silver coin. The T2 found it easily. About six weeks ago I found an 1817 large cent and I measured the depth it was in the hole I dug, 10 inches. I am not saying the T2 is going to always go deep, like all detectors it is affected by mineralization, moisture, and variables like how the target is positioned in the ground, but I can tell you from experience the T2 finds targets well down into the ground. If you get one you will not be disappointed.

Im waiting for it now,Is the disc good ????its not a notch i know,The one thing i can say about Garrett the disc was on time,average depth was about 6inches may be seven...Im looking to do a little relic hunting,my brother just got some land where a battle took place,so i want to go deep!!DOES Any body know it sun ray has a prob for
the T2?>??I was told the T2 is a deep detector ill give it a run it looks like the F75 a lot or the the same??

I mostly relic hunt in Northern Virginia, Eastern West Virginia and South West Maryland. The places I hunt do not give up their "treasures" easily and most of my finds are between 3 and 10 inches. The T2 manual will tell you it targets assuming a coin size target and I have found the depths of my finds to be consistent with this. When I get a good signal that turns out to be a button, coin or bullet or similar sized target it is almost always at the depth the meter says it is. When the target is larger, like a horse shoe or a breast plate, the meter will read something in the 5 or 6 inch depth and the target is 9 or 11 inches down. As long as you are aware of this, fine. Get a good pin-pointer, it will save a lot of unnecessary digging. I recently bought the new Garrett pin-pointer and highly recommend it. Now I usually remove a couple of clumps of dirt and swing the pin-pointer around the hole. Most of the time the target is detected further down or it is already out and I find it in one of the clumps.

One of my regular hunting buddies uses an F-75. Great detector! We find the two machines, the F-75 and the T2 work almost the same.

THANKS for the tips,I need all the help i can get!!!I like hunting school yards and homes. ILL hit the park too,I tryed water hunting but its not for me I love the excal 2 but like i said its not for me,so im going to trade it for a different detector as a back up,The main detector will be the T2,Whats the best way to set it up????I like tone ID and was told it has it,,WELL ill keep you guys posted and THANKS TO THE FORUM,I would have never got a better deal any where!!!!!!!!
