My Garrett AT Pro Pointer is.......................

James/Washington

Active member
making a light frying sound at the switch and after just 26 hours of setting on my desk, and off, has run the new battery down that I put in yesterday. This is the second one that has done the same thing! They replaced the first one, no questions asked. First one was less than a year old and had been used sparingly and never did see any wet digs. Always kept dry. The sent me a new one just two months ago and it is doing the exact same thing. It makes no difference if it is off, if you hold the button neat your ear, you can hear a slight frying sound. I was wondering if others are having the same problem. I wonder if this is common and Garrett knows about it. I will contact Garrett tomorrow and send this one back for repair or replacement. I am not questioning Garrett repair service as they have always been great at taking care of customers. I do think the switch has a bad design flaw.
