My HH Wader got me some jewelry

Sure did! I like it all! The Avon could be the real deal. Huntress is an Avon Independent Sales Rep., maybe I'll get her to take a look. What else do you have there mate? It looks like a .925 chain, but what have you got on the toe ring and band? Any marks on them? Got a loupe? Let us know, we likes details, especially me, what can I say? Great hunt, looks like the Wader is humming real well, WTG! You hunting a lake or what?

Just sent her an e-mail, as she is already asleep, we'll see what she has to say about that piece. She may know, we'll see!

Hi, Gulfhuntress here, thought I would put my 2 cents in here. Avon makes lots of jewelry, this brooch is old, as I have not seen it before, you can go to your local library and look for a book in Avon, there should be one there. I checked out one from our library here and looked at it, has some interesting pieces in there, from glass containers to all kinds of jewerly, even has the prices in there, along with the year it was sold. This piece is plated and we call that goldtone, which Avon makes alot of, the real stuff is not the big, ususally rings and some chains. Anyways, jsut thought I would share that with you. I wil check the book out again and see what I can find on it and get back to you. Nice loot you got there. It is always exciting to find gold and silver, I am so ready to get back out there and find my next piece. My Excal 800 is at the Dr's office now getting fixed up. Can't wait to get her back and in the water, or at least the water's edge and find me some loot. HH

Thanks for the congrats and info. The chain is marked .925 Italy, the rings also .925. Found them in the wet sand about 2-3 from where the water was coming up so there were not in the suds or water. The rings were about 7-8 inches down, in between lots of nails. The Wader gave a nice solid sound in between the broken sounds of the nails...I had discrim set at just above 1, sens at 9.

The chain was about 5 inches down. Good, solid signal.

The brooch was up in the dry sand, very shallow so I would imagine most any detector would have hit that thing as long as the discrim was low.

I am going to try to do some research on the brooch. That's part of the fun. I know it's costume, but I would like to see when they made it.

Peace and happy hunting.

JC
