..This last mid-June,HP replaced the hard drive under warranty-Take a guess,what fried again,yesterday.....SO:I called HP computer Dr's,and they told me"YA!!!-DE HARD DRIVE IS KAPUT,AGAIN!!!."...They also said this is almost unheard of,a hard drive going south this fast-AND,if I have any more trouble while it's under warranty,they will replace my laptop.SO:I am writing this,from Marcia's computer...she is taking me to her family reunion,said she is going to "show me off"..........Later,friends,and happy hunting,warthog Steve.........

Yes...enjoy your day with your lady friend. One of my sisters had similar problems with her HP laptop and had to send it back to the repair shop twice.

If it happens again and if it's out of warranty, you might seriously consider installing Ubuntu/Linux rather than Windows on your laptop. It far more stable and take much less energy to operate. You'll not have to shell out any bucks for programs either, as all are free on the Linux system. Check it out @ Ubuntu Home
My daughter was having a similar problem turned out she was setting it down on the couch and or on a pillow it turned out she was blocking the ventilation ,lap top's are famous for running hot so its very important to keep the vents clear and blow the lint and dust out once in a while hope this helps .
