My little Vaquero was shining today!!

Well-known member
I detected around an old home site that I have been searching on and off for a while and decided to use the stock coil today instead of the small coil that I usually use.
I couldn't believe the amount of finds I made and this by far the best day I have had at this site.
Needless to say, I am very pleased with the Vaqueros performance today.
Thanks for looking,
Felix

Some nice finds you got there. Nice camera!.

Those are some great finds! Good job!

What is the small coil that you usually use with your Vaquero? Were these finds deeper with stock coil? or were they not showing up with the small coil?
Thanks
Minas man

I don't have a smaller coil yet, I have used some of the bigger ones, but found the stock one to be the best compromise.
Nice finds.

Can't say why I didn't find these with the small coil.
I searched slowly and tried to overlap my swings with the small coil.
These finds were not all that deep and actually one of the bullet was sticking halfway out of the ground and I saw it before my coil went over it.
I found many small pieces of lead that were deep with my small 5.75" CC coil which is what I usually use at this site, but due to the open areas and lack of trash now, I just decided to try the stock coil.
This area that I am hunting is an old home site that is surrounded by a lake.
The lake is being lowered for maintenance and now much of the ground is exposed.
I figured maybe some items sunk down deeper in the muck which is why I decided to use the stock coil.
One bullet was found in an area that I had not searched previously due to water level, but most of the other items pictured were found in places previously detected.
Matter of fact I found 6 bullets close to where I had found bullets before.. can't figure out how they were missed... maybe stock coil gave a better response.. or perhaps just luck.

Nice finds, maybe the new finds were due to detecting the area from a different angle?
