talked to Wanda, his mom, today, and she said he really looks nice in his Navy Uniform and has 2 ribbons now! He will be staying in another building in another area of the Great Lakes Naval Base and do some more training, I guess, for the Navy Seals! She said it was cold but enjoyed being there. Scott's three sisters were at the ceremony, too! Wanda still sad over his leaving, but said she is happy too, as he seems very happy and content in what he is doing! Keep them in prayer please! Thank you and God Bless! Betty

I would have like to have seen there faces watching him at the ceremony. You know they were so proud of him.

I was in Great Lakes in the summer of 75 for Boot Camp, and back up at the training center in the winter of 82 and it was cold. Glad to hear Scott made it through boot, and he has alot of new experiences to look forward to. I really enjoyed being on board ship. After boot, it was not so bad. If he goes to San Diego for SEAL training, that will be a whole different time. They go through alot of very tough training. They are the best of the best. Keep us updated on how he is doing. Just contacted a guy I served with 33 years ago on board ship over in Sardinia, Italy. First time we had found each other since I left Italy in 1977. Memories are great.

Thanks everyone and, yes, I'm sure they were looking proudly at son and brother! They spent some time with him while there and enjoyed being with him for awhile! I've heard that the Navy Seals training is very tough and I sure hope he makes it, as he trained and trained at home and at the YMCA a long time before he even signed up for the Navy! His second ribbon was for Sharp Shooting....he only liked 9 tenths of one point getting the excellent award! Thank you for praying for him and Wanda and family! She still misses Larry and has a hard time at times, but she is working and keeping busy! I still miss my brother also! We never forget our loved ones in whom we have so many memories! God Bless! Betty
