I finally got my ACE 250 when I got home from work today. I am anxious to try it out but way to cold for me here. !0 degrees in Illinois.
I don't know but I might be the only one in Edgar County that metal detects but I could be wrong.:detecting :detecting:

I know the ground is frozen. But find a day where the sun is shinning and hit some sand. It heats up quicker and you can hunt it sooner than the ground. About 3 weeks ago I hit a sand play ground. It was thawed down to about 4 inches then rock solid past that. I only hit about 12 targets and one of them was a 14K tiny gold ring. The good stuff is s out there!

You're going to have a blast!
Look for Baseball diamonds! I have always found lots of stuff there.
You will find them at high schools, sports fields private sports fields etc.
Hunt around the bleachers but also HUNT THE ACTUAL DIAMOND as well.
You will find all sorts of clad and even rings there...also lots of pull tabs, but
dig them anyway. They may turn out to be gold rings or gold of some kind.
ALso hunt "around" Tennis courts.

Good luck.

Hey Khouse.
I found a small gold wedding band at one baseball diamond
about five weeks back. Like you it was 14 kt Plum. The pawn shop gave me
$40 dollars for it. I probably got ripped off but what the heck!!!!

It takes a lot of clad to make $40.00 Good job! My ring will barely go over my pinkie finger nail. I can't figure out why little kids are wearing real gold rings? But I'm sure glad they do!!!

Could be a toe ring:detecting:

I have tried the red area where the pitcher stands and have never found anything. Usually its red meneralized dirt anyway. No. I hunt the grassy part of the field and ALWAYS find something. Found a small thick gold wedding band several weeks ago and got $40 dollars for it at a pawn shop. Well worth the effort to hunt the ball field.

Good luck.
