My only design complaint about the T2

I LOVE my T2, dont get me wrong, but I've run into one recurring issue that bugs me just a little. Several time during each hunt, I find myself running on settings that I didnt program. I'll look up and my sensitivity is 95 when I set it at 80, or I'm in all metal instead of disc, or I'm in 1 tone instead of 2+. I was kind of confused by it for whuile but I THINK I figured it out the last time I was hunting. I think whats happening is that when I go to pick the machine back up after digging a signal, my thumb is rolling the dial on the display and changing my settings. Not a big deal, but its a enough to screw you up while hunting. I wish they'd either located the knob elsewhere, or created a "safety" step to prevent that from happening...At this point its kind of moot to talk about what ifs, so can somebody tell me how I might fix that issue without making it harder on myself when I really DO want to change settings?

my only complaint on the overall design is the position of the volume knob. for some reason, while hunting,it turns up and down with the contact with my body (I guess). I partially solved that always using the rain cover which also prevents the volume from accidental switches...

I'm not sure as I have not got mine yet, but Mr. Bill's on his F75 looked like they kept the buttons on place as the holes just fit snug.....anyone care to comment on this?

On my F-75 I was bumping the volume occasionally on my hip and I solved that by moving the arm brace/battery housing forward one set of holes. It's a light enough unit that it still balances and there is plenty of leverage for the coil (especially with the arm brace "ears" tight on my arm).

The display knob being bumped can be solves with the rain cover if you don't pull the knob through (or remove & replace). Also, like when carrying a firearm, you keep your finger off the trigger when you're moving. Just good practices. If you are bumping it when picking up the detector or setting it down maybe you could leave it in the tones menu so it doesn't mess you up too much.

I keep mine on the disc setting. That way if I move it a little it really does not matter that much. I used to keep it on the mode setting and run it on 2+, then i'd look at it and find it on 1...

I did not like that much.
