My personal top 3 Gold finds from Belgium

On the second place

No beach find but found on field near an old Castle, you can see a name and the date in the ring ( child ring)
The ring consists of two parts processed, cannot separate from each other but can move relative to each other

first of all, this incredibly small and rare gold coin from the 7th century, This is so from the early middle ages

" Tremissis, Chitry-les-Mines, monetario Austrulfo, c.585–675"

Size12mm and weight 1 gram

For weeks have specialists from Belgium, France and Netherlands searched for a determination

Of this coin/ruler are so far but 6 exempaleren known
So under these 6 pieces there were 3 variants of which was mine yet slightly different, so a fourth variant now.
Also there are 2 of these 6 known coins only in books described and drawn and so with my piece there are only 4 coins real existing now.
the currency is so rare that they do not dare paste value on it, so the coin is kept in a vault of the local bank

or your information, a different kind of old gold coins that can be found in my region are from 1 century BC and is called "gold stater"
On the 9 years of searching I have not been able but friends of mine have already been lucky there ever so to find one.
so this something is still open on my wish list

Greetings
Wim ( Belgium)

@ after-1-

Search for over 9 years, every week-end and also often after work.
only active in the province of East-Flanders ( Belgium)

I am very lucky becaus my region has findings of all different of periods : prehistory with little fossils of shark teeth for erxample, stone age with findings like arrowheads, bronze and iron age,
4 centuries Roman occupation, reasonable habitation strating in middel ages ( see city's bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, oudenaarde) , until the 19th century varied under occupation of spain, England,
France, Netherlands, Germany ( so we can find all these sort coins) and Belgium coins starting from 1831 (creation of the country Belgium)
