My Pocket Uni Probe holster.

SNOWY

New member
I figured I'd build a support system for my Pocket Uni probe...
I cut it from some soft ( nearly 1/8" thick ) soft leather .

The plastic tubing I used for the holster was made from some scrap 1" PVC tubing.
I flared the end of the tubing by heating the last approx 3/4" of it up until it softened.
Then I pressed it onto a bakelite ball hand knob, while rotating it at the same time.
I punched a hole in the leather to take the tubing, the flared end stops it falling through.
I cut slots to recieve the belt clip of the Pocket probe, and cut a slot out to receive the
ridge that is meant to clip over the belt.

There is an elastic loop also to hold the probe body snug onto the leather holster body.

You can see an "O" ring on the switch toggle...
This gives me a momentary switch so that I can pinpoint, then release the switch single
handed to turn the probe off again...

Nice set up Snowy. I see you've hard wired the coil. With it set up like that, it put the probe at the right altitude to use stait off the belt.

Hello Mick, the probe was hard wired when I bought it new from the States...

I'm happy that it is hard wired, as I think the BNC fitting on others I've seen could have been troublesome.
I only intended it to be used as a probe anyway mate...

Hope you're doing ok...

Snowy. :)

Glad to see that they do that from the factory. I'm going to have to get mine done again by a sparky this time, as it comes apart still. I had a mate do it for me, but it didn't work out. The connector that they used to use was definitely something that needed replacing.
Have fun with you E-trac. The more I read about it, the more impressed I am with it. When the old Explorer dies, I think that an E-Trac will replace it.
