My S.E.F. 12x10 on the way.

I will post my opinion on the coil.

However reports I have read already regardless of coil size they all perform well! In Europe and USA, and I've never seen a coil with high accolades globaly.
This is going to be a very interesting spring, and kellyco I guess will be making$$$.
This is great for the hobby, even hunters having single frequency machines will be using these coils, this is BIG!

Snow storm heading my way so give me a little time on the coil results. Like I said with all the postings this far on this and other sites much has been proved already.

I bet your going to love that coil. I was this close to buying one myself. When I dug up all the threads I could on any aftermarket coils for the Sovereign I didn't really see any negative material on it. I remember some saying both it and the 12x15 had better seperation than any similar sized coils they've ever used and also pinpointed better. I also remember a lot of people saying they were more stabile allowing you to run sensitivity higher than a similar sized coil. It's sort'a a toss up between that coil and the 15x12 on smaller coins from what I've read. The 12x10 might be just as deep on those but it's for sure deeper than the 10" Tornado from what most people say. The 15x12 will get deeper on say nickle or larger sized coins from what I gather, though. The 12x10 had a good half inch more depth on a cut quarter penny, which from the looks of it is about the size of a half dime and probably smaller. For that reason that coil would probably be a little hotter on very tiny targets at the edge of detection depth for both coils.

Keep us informed on how it compares to your 8" coil. I also plan to compare my 15x12 to the 10" and post the results. Besides depth, it's going to be interesting to see if this coil can do any better at seperation than the 10" or at least match it. Even if that's not the case it won't matter much to me because I bought it for depth and not seperation.

Oh I can't wait to get started!

Neil from minelab Europe stated that the 15x12 was the best coil he ever put on his minelab hands down, and said the separation was better than the 10" slimeline! We shall see!

This forum is gonna get hot on these new coils!

Trust me they have it!!! Their web site is not quit accurate. It is mentioned off and on.

Just call kellyco ask for JW or another salesperson. ITS THERE!!!

Yea, just got my 15x12 yesterday in the mail and am excited too! I'll be posted a mini-review along with pictures, weights, and other info in the other large coil thread within an hour here. Been typing it up on Wordperfect 'cuz I'm getting real sick of Findmall not letting me edit my messages. Either one of these coils is going to be kind'a a toss up for people. The 12x10 is about .5" deeper on the cut quarter penny, while I've read the 15x12 *might* get a bit deeper on penny/dime targets or at least is a match in depth on those, but it's said to get deeper on larger coins like quarters/halfs. Then you have to consider the weights. Hey, even read many Explorer/Etrac guys think the 12x10, just like the 15x12, is deeper than the 11" Pro Coil for them. I've heard some say these SEF coils have the best seperation of any coil they've seen near that size.

Do us a favor and weigh that puppy with and without the coil cover and I'll add it to the chart. Also, if you feel like it stick any info and/or a review in the other thread so we can try to keep all the info on these aftermarket coils in one place. I want to build a thread with as much information as possible on all the aftermarket coils rather than having it scattered through various threads.

Yea, all of these coils are at Kellyco's site. You just have to look around because I noticed some aren't listed in various spots but are in others, such as if you were looking at the GT and clicked on it's coils there, or if you went to another area of the site and clicked on Excelerator coils. Somebody should do a better job making that site uniform. You'll also find that many of the reviews for these coils are tucked away in one spot or another on various pages. Makes it tough to make sure you aren't missing any reviews. Move the cursor around also because you can click on various links that don't look like links until you are over them.
