Great Republic

Got home from working on Sunday and my son runs up to me and says, "dad look what I found out at the barn". With a National Geographic metal detector that I bought for a buck at a yard sale no less.

Nice find ! What a strange-looking detector ....congrats to your son !!

That is way cool !

Cool, I'll bet that kid was STOKED.

Jeff

Thanks. He is 10 years old. The detector is a real cheap one.It has a red light and a green light and it beeps. Goes down about two inches. The coil is about an 1.5" in dia.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree....don't let him borrow your Explorer!
Thanks for the pics!

Just found this post while searching this toy. I got one yesterday at a yard sale also, $4.50. Very surprised how well it performed. Like you said-2 inches for a penny. HOWEVER I GET 7 INCHES ON A ALTOIDS TIN! Can't wait to mod this for a back-up pin-pointer. Congratulations to your son for discovering this great hobby - and to you ,for showing him the way. sam in ms.
