My stock coil on my Quattro connector was a bit loose did i do anything wrong by hand tightening tight?

I noticed today on my used quattro that the conection at the bottom of the stock coil was a bit loose. So i hand tightend it pretty tight .Im wondering should it be ok or did i tighten it too much. It doesnt spin or isnt loose or anything. There seems to be a plastic washer in between the botom and top conector where the cable screw into the coil at the bottom. Strange that it was loose guess it happens. Any ideas or pros out there?

You don't want it so tight, that the coil can't move. The coil needs to be able to move when a little force is applied to it. When I stand my safari up on its coil, I can hinge my machine with no problem. If the coil is too tight and you bump it hard or get it caught on a bush or some other obstacle you want it to have a little give so it doesn't break.

He is talking about the cable connection on the coil ... not the lower rod / coil nut and bolt.

No ... you did not hurt it, Trackerman.
For it to be waterproof it must be tight enough to seal out water.
If it was loose enough that you could turn it with your fingers it needed to be tightened.
