My thoughts about a few things lately.

James N.D.

First off, I would like to set the record straight about recent events about hunting Church's. One and foremost, I never hunt land that is Privately Owned without Permission First. When I hunt a Church Yard or Parking Lot (which in most cases are grass and the only spot to detect due to the Cemetery overtaking the Yard), I get Permission either by someone affiliated with the Church or the Grounds Keeper which many of times I have hunted Churches has been the person to talk to due to his job of taking care of the Grounds even after asking someone on the Church Board. I Never Trespass on Private Property and I am getting a bit tired of some of you on here trying to make me look like the bad guy here. The only reason you treat me this way is due to the fact I keep bringing home Keepers and finding great spots that most of you only dream about finding. I have done TONS of RESEARCH for 3 DIFFERENT STATES and have not even touched the surface of the amount of sites I have found through RESEARCH. I've got a Library of more than 140 Centennial / County Books (could be more) and I bet I have only read 30 or so from cover to cover so you can imagine how many more sites I will know about when I start doing more RESEARCH this winter. I work just as hard if not harder than most on here in finding these sites and getting the needed Permission when the Property is Privately Owned. I would never take the chance of getting prosecuted by a landowner nor would I take the chance of this hobby getting anymore negative feedback from such actions. This is the Hobby I enjoy the most and I would never take a chance at losing such a Hobby by doing something so selfish. I could keep going on and on until I was blue in the face and keep trying to get some of this info across some of you but some you just can't teach due to not wanting to learn or what I call "selective hearing/reading". Anyways, I'm just like the rest of you hunters on this forum. I have always been true to my findings and I will not sit back and watch trouble makers make a mockery about the way I detect, the ethics I use, and my finds I post. If you all only knew me and could hunt with me....you would be telling me how sorry you are for the negative comments and false assumptions because you would then see for yourselves that I am just like you and just have sites that still are producing for me. Now, I hope this does not get pulled since this is just the way I feel on this issue. As always, I wish you all the best of Luck and HH in the field on your next hunt and hope to see some good finds found from many of you.

what you wrote in the thread below on your last weekend finds to someone when they asked whether you'd obtained permission to detect all those churches that you detected at - that they/(you) didn't need permission to hunt country churches? You said they only needed to dress neatly. When several forum members corrected you, you THEN said you always get permission. Now maybe your playing with the word permission (like Clinton's "that depends on what the meaning of is, is"), but proper permission from those that have the authority to grant permission is what is needed. I for one do not believe you had that or anything remotely close to it. The posts are there for those that care to read them and weight in on their own opinion of what you wrote. But my ol' pappy didn't raise a fool - I don't buy what you're selling!

I think it is sad that a long time forum member who actually takes the time to post his spectacular finds instead of just making rude comments about other peoples finds, is forced to defend himself against attacks from a member who is new and frankly seems mad because he cant find a pop can an inch down. Isn't this forum about showing friends what you have found and helping each other to be successfull. I don't want to be a jerk but i think we all need to be backing James, he has been detecting for a long time and I'm sure he knows the rules and regulations to the hobby. I just get so mad when people start disrespecting each other, its just a fun hobby and we should just leave it at that. As my old pappy used to say " Shut up and get me a beer before I wup you with the belt."

Good thing your around there deputy dog. What I did not say in that post was that we had asked people about hunting these sites prior to trying them since this was not the first time in the area that we have hunted in this general location in neighboring towns so you believe what you want Maverick. You think you know it all anyways so what's to stop you? I know how to go about getting permission for a lot of things and you would be surprised at just how many ways one can find out who to talk to and how fast it is to either get a yes or no. Sorry I failed to put that in my last post due to the non-sense that never seems to stop by you and a few others and I was caught off guard. That's what happens when a person gets a little ticked off by people like you. They screw up. People can believe me or not, it's their choice but many have hunted with me and know I won't hunt Private Property unless I have been granted to.

Some people just have nothing better to do than irritate others I guess. Still haven't seen some of these supposed hunters post any finds either which is odd. You would almost think that they would post something but they don't which either means they don't detect at all or only wished they did. Thanks for the reply there Montanagold. Good Luck and HH.

If you only knew what kind of year I'm having outside of this forum, you would be surprised. Once the whirlwind starts, it seems to just keep going and gain momentum. Now to wait it out and see how long it last's. Thanks for the response also. Good Luck and HH to you on your next outing. :detecting:
