My Vaquero is back!

You never really know how much you miss something until its been gone for a while. I got my Vaquero back from the factory today after a couple weeks of it needing the stock and 5.75 concentric coil re-tuned. I definitely didn't mind the wait and I am glad it is back to me. Rusty said it tested really well and I should notice the difference. I will be away for the weekend so I probably won't be able to do an air test or anything until I get back, but I will let you guys know when I can. I can't wait to get back out there. Tesoro's service is up to par!

Having just gotten repaired, I can totally relate to how happy you are to have it back and your happiness with Tesoro's service.

The Vaqueros manual ground balance adjusts both the all metal and the discriminate mode at the same time. So there is no need to have a coil retuned. You do that every time you ground balance the machine. It can bo adjusted to use the various coils by ground balancing.
If a coil goes bad thats another story.

They didn't need to be retuned in the sense your thinking of. It's not like I sent them in to be re-tuned, it's just that they told me both coils weren't entirely correct. They needed to be re-coiled and stuff because they either went bad or they were like that when I got them and i just never knew.

You are correct on missing something Have two there now for two weeks and getting withdrawels

So what's the vaquero air test now Bobby s...?:wiggle:

I'll have to let you know in a few days. I've been real busy and I'm going out of town early tomorrow. I will let you know when I can

I wonder if the insulation in the coil breaks down causing shorts in some the coil wires making the coil resistance change requiring the coils to require some rework and "retuning". I bet that does happen on occasion.

I bet you will be amazed.:surprised:

Not sure about coil insulation but the epoy can shift if the detctor is left in a hot car.

I bet you are really going to do good now.You were handicapped before, but not now.It is good you felt something was wrong and you asked questions.Otherwise you would have not known you had a problem.I can't wait to see your next movie.Good job on your persisting to know thy detector. That is the most important thing. :-V

Thanks SpiritRelic. I know I have definitely been persistent and sometimes it wasn't always the best decision to jump to conclusions, but once I finally decided I needed to send it in, my questions were answered. I guess you could say my confidence grew after realizing I had a lot more positive things to say than negative and also just trying to get tips in the process really helped. It's a great feeling knowing that my Vaquero is going to perform even better than before. It's back to me all freshened up and hopefully I can make another YouTube video soon of some more great finds.

I just sent my V back to be fixed, it hasn't worked right since I got it. Wasn't getting much depth & now I can't even get it to GB. Cant wait to get it fixed, I heard all about how deep it goes but the deepest I ever got with it was 4-5". I talked to Tesoro & they seemed to think something wasn't right with it. Even when I did an air test it would only go about 5"
