My x30 gold finds for past 5years...

My family and friends have seen and heard it all,so I'm glad i found this site to show my digs to fellow hunters.just wish i had started detecting 30 years ago,as i am just as excited about hunting tomorrow as i was the first time 5 years ago..I found all the small gold on all metal setting which comes up #8 & #4 but not at all on the discrimination setting.

The mens wedding band was a solid #28...14k....9.4g beach volleyball court
The emerald and diamonds were #12 on the big one and #8 on the small.. found on top of each other in a church parking lot/ dug the #12 first(this was my first gold ring) checked the hole again and hit a #8 on the small one.
The small mens wedding band was a solid #12...14k...3g..city park
The small pendents were #4&8 on AM or they would not be detected/same with the small chain #8/the Figaro was found at the beach(dry sand )#4 AM only also. All the targets held solid # on multiple passes and good crisp tones.. but even with that i dug alot of aluminum...I put signs up at the volleyball court and informed the beach bar but no claims...the emerald and diamonds i still call the church.every year to remind them.
The big stainless steel with 18k gold band down the middle i found metal detecting...But i saw it first..does that count??...I like the paper clip ring holder thing...love this site..bob.oz

Congrats on some very nice finds Bob. It's obvious by your continuing to find the original owners of those lost pieces that you understand the true rewards of this hobby! Congrats on that, as well. I am a bit confused as to your comments that you were able to find those targets with positive TID numbers in all metal mode. But do I understand you to say that they didn't register on the detector when using a Pattern with those notches accepted? HH Randy

IT is only on the all metal pattern that i get a hit(#) on those objects, when on the discrimination pattern there is no hit(#) on screen at all.i keep sens up all the way.thanks

Thanks for the response. But your situation sure has me stumped! If you don't mind, could you try modifying a Pattern so that all the notch segments are set to accept, and scan the targets? I can't think of any reason that a target wouldn't hit on a zero discrimination Pattern mode when in All Metal you are getting conductive TID numbers. Thanks. HH Randy

even if i clear all (turning it on and holding the pattern button then doing the same with the accept button, ) i can still pass the necklace, bracelet ,or cross and get nothing unless its on all metal

What I was asking was to have you modify one of the Patterns so that all the notch segments are set to accept. To do that, chose any one of the preset Patterns. Then, use the + and - pads to move the notch segments, and set each one to accept using the Accept/Reject pad. That will change the existing discrimination levels of that Pattern to a zero discrimination Pattern. If that is what you were saying, then I am stumped! HH Randy

Thanks for your help..I'll mess with it tomorrow/get the manual out..... as a turn on and go machine, and that's just what i did 5 years ago and never looked back.

i have the 305 and the golden goodies are way low tones. if you dont dig 4s 8s n 12s you are missin them goldies. i will check to see if theres any difference between All metal and disc pattern 1 with -4 notched out. i blinkin well hope no diff as i often search in disc mode 1 with bottom notch set to reject.

Very nice finds, Bob. Good on you for trying to find the owners of the two "churchyard" rings. I'd say if no one has claimed them by now, then either the owner has left the district, or the previous owner does not want them back.
