my XP Deus water setup

Here is my XP Deus water kit.

I used the stock water antenna, it's a very good product, the lashing point very fine. Unfortunately has a weak point, where the cable easily broken!
When you move the coil in the water every swing moves the cable. See the picture.
Need some protection there. cable strain relief, etc...

I went back to my previous idea. Old BNC coaxial cable. It's thicker than stock, but stronger, thinner than RG6 common coaxial cable, but more flexible. And black:)

The coil side cable end unshielded, put in a plastic tube, cast with hot glue. Fixed to coil with insulating tape. Very rugged solution
The controll-box cable end hot glued in a piece of Polycarbonate.
Ad some 3M™ Dual Lock™ Reclosable Fasteners
to Polycarbonate and at the back of the waterproof case.

The controll box put in a cheap but very thick waterproof case, it has 3,5 jack connector.

It works perfectly for me. Both fresh water and sea. Tested under water (snorkeling) with waterproof earbud (not the best solution for ears)

The next step build a waterproof heaphone. Why hasn't volume control in deus??

Thanks for watching

I would like to thank you for your post.
The Deus connection shows a rubber o ring that holds the connection to the coil.
It looks that it wraps under the coil to hold connection on coil.
Seems like it would get snagged on bottom of coil. Is that a fare statement?
Hard to tell without good pictures from XP.

The waterproof bag how is the screen cover to push menu etc?
The belt and arm cuff quality?

Thanks and keep us updated.

I don't understand your first question exactly.
The stock water antenna end put on the coil and the O ring loop under the coil( and cover off course)

The rubber O ring hold the antenna in good position on the coil, but my opinion not enough safe. If you move the coil close the lake bed. Some electric tape defent the O ring.

For waterproof case:

I use Deus for waterhunting many time, with waterproof plastic case. I wear thick scuba gloves then, it's a hard to push the button situation too.
I put small silicone rubber bumpers to the buttons. ( Like uses include Kitchen Cabinets, Doors, Drawers for protection and noise reduction on closing.)

Easily palpable, protect the plastic case and makes it easy to push the buttons.

I too have used the rubber bumpers to make the buttons easier to push with gloves on and they work great!
