Nails In The Fense

Dear Ladies, Gentlemen, and Fellow Seekers,

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence He said, 'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us. Please forgive me if I have ever left a hole in your fence Delete Comment

one would almost expect Jesus to tell in a parable. Thank you for the post and no you have made a hole in my fence. Instead you have brought joy. Thank you again,

I on the other hand have left holes and apologize to my Brothers and Sisters in Christ whom I have left a mark upon. Forgive me. Bless you all.

a true friend is like a tree. We will mess up sometimes and drive nails in that tree. If we leave those nails than there will always be a hole, but if we pull the nails out the tree will heal up the hole. My advice is to not pass through this life leaving a lot of nails in the trees. If the tree/friend will let you, Pull the nail out and let the healing take place. I cherish friendship and hope I don't leave any nails unpulled.
God Bless,
HH

Very good post and, yes, sharp spoken words, without putting mouth in gear, cause deep wounds hard to bear, but saying we are sorry and repairing what we have done to another person will start the healing and eventually the scar or scars will be less and less! Please forgive me also for any wounds I may have caused my sisters and brothers on this forum or anyone else! May the love of Jesus show through each of our hearts and shine His love and goodness unto all that we come in contact with! Amen! Welcome to the Forum SeniorSeeker, we are happy to have you with us and hope you post again! Need prayer? Just ask!! Betty

Thank You Ma Betty In Mo...

I'm delighted to be here and hope to gain many new friends, with which to share my meager finds. Today's finds weren't much; two dimes, one penny, and a dog tag that came from a vet center that's no longer in business. You had ask if I needed prayer and my answer is simply this; I turn 65 years young on the 19th of this month and my one desire (what a blessing & gift it would be) to find someone (of the opposite gender) to share this wonderful hobby. I've been alone for nearly 25 years & long for that special someone to come into my life. There...now that I have told the whole world what I'm thinking, I guess I'll just patiently wait to see what you & God will do. Ha! ha! I'm happy you like my article of "Nails In The Fence".

Well, I will wish you an early HAPPY BIRTHDAY, as I am so forgetful now that I just might forget to wish you one on the 19th, which is only 3 days away! I will pray for God to send you that special someone to marry and be able to go places together for enjoying life and also metal-detecting! I am not able to go :detecting: any more but I really enjoyed it when I did! My brother and I are not too well these days and he helps me, but mostly I am helping him now, since he's been in and out of the hospital for his illnesses and we both have Chronic Obstruction Pulmanary Dysfunction (COPD)! I have been alone since 1986 and was lonely but not any more, especially since my brother came up to be with me in Oct 2006; therefore, looking for a mate has been laid by the wayside, so I can serve Jesus better! :) Of course, if God sends a good Christian man, maybe I would redo my thinking on that subject, but he would have to tell me very clearly that I could marry him! Hope you find lots of goodies and post often with pics of them, if you are able to do so!

God Bless! Betty
