What are some of the misfortunes experienced by Naomi? Ruth 1.

Ruth 1 Naomi Loses Her Husband and Sons "In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land. So a man from Bethlehem in Judah, together with his wife and two sons, went to live for a while in the country of Moab. The man

God's Word tells us 'Pride goes before a fall' and pride, like so many other areas of our lives, must be given over to God or, if left unchecked, will needlessly bring so much pain and suffering into our lives. So often, as Christians, we think 'those things such as pride' are for God to take away when actually 'those things' are for us to 'give up', when we've chosen to follow Him in love and truth. He stands ready to forgive and forget but only after we've chosen to restructure our lives in response to His love for us.

God's plan fpr Naomi and Ruth was the best for them and for His purpose, as Ruth's son was the blood-line producing David, who became the King of Israel! By following the path that God had set before them they were saved from starving and Ruth found a wealthy husband who loved and cared for her and Naomi! God is good and is good all the time! People in the older generations were raised to help themselves the best they could and meet their own needs; therefore, would not ask for help but neighbors were very helpful back then and helped each other by seeing the needs of others without being asked! I was raised up in a family like that....dad was too proud to take handouts and his mom, my grandma, was like that and they all had a very difficult time in surviving after my grandpa left them as young children! They were very poor and worked hard to make a living just to survive! Mom lost her mother at the age of seven and also had a life of trying to survive with being raised by relatives until older when her and Aunt Myrtle returned to grandpa and helped take care of him! Some people don't understand how others have lived and survive in spite of their difficulties....but it would have been easier for all....had they really loved God in Jesus' name and obeyed him, as He sees us through all trials and troubles when we trust and lean on Him! Amen! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
