Yesterday I visited the Dubbo branch of the NPWS just to see what they would say about practising my finding techniques in the sand in the Beni NP. 8 yrs ago we used to walk the dogs there & really enjoyed the freedom that we used to have in the Australian bush. Now is been declared a National Park.
At the Dubbo office of the NPWS, I was told that if I get caught in the Beni NP with a metal detector, I had better have a good lawer & plenty of money for court cost. The bottom line was: DON'T DO IT.

[sub][sub]Personalities: The Meloncholy personality - likes things to be neat & tidy. Likes analyzing things & keeping records. Excellent planners & very good with finances. Very easily upset & offended as they take things to heart - personally.[/sub][/i[/sub]]

Same goes for over here in the States. At least that is what I learned at the National Sea Shore area along the Gulf. I was told that even having a detector in your possession when on the Nat. SeaShore will result in confiscation of the detector and some hefty fines. Oh, for the good ol days! HH Randy

Nice try John.:poke: At least you can hunt in the State park in Burrendong. About the only thing I'll do in the Abeni forest, is go for a run with the running club. Maybe if I carry a detector in each hand, used as running weights, I might be OK.:bouncy:

Our civil liberties in Australia have been eroded so much over the last 5o years
soon you wont be allowed out the door.

Remember fire crackers
air guns
not having to register guns, and when we did they took them off innocent owners
crossbows
cattle could graze in the high country and help stop bush fires
no heritage rivers so you could gold pan
the list goes on
ban all greenies and remove all national park restrictions

Truer words have not been said. RIP Australia.'We were once the lucky country. How long will it be before we need a Chinese passport to visit the Northern Territory?

don't get me started on this, schools look like jails every 2nd football field has a fence .........the list is endless!!

the greens are like a watermelon green on the outside and red in the middle !!

shooters and fishers party

don't forget to vote we still can fight back the Communists don't have all the power yet but if we sit by and watch it happen they will very soon!!

Yep frustrating, the freedom we have in Australia is fast eroding. Makes you want to go bush. It appears Dobbo's not far enough. Aaron

Sorry I forgot to add: "If you also get caught using a generator in a NSW NP - you had better be prepared to get yourself a good lawer." The bottom line is, if you are camping & need a source of 240v power, use an inverter & NOT a generator.
