Nice finds. Must have been fun. Give us more details.

Well there is a decommissioned navy yard that dates back to the late 1800 and we watched it slowly start to turn into housing. We were caught once and asked to leave so we took safety vests...you know the ones that are orange and have those loud stripes in red. Well we looked like construction workers and we were left alone even by the police that patrol the area.

We found some old buildings and an old church that we thought would pay off big time only to find that we found junk...My buddy told me navy people didn't sit on lawns like we do unless it was a park. So I said OK maybe you are right, WHAT EVER LETS TRY SOME PLACE ELSE.

We found the housing units they all looked alike but were nice and they had backyards. We had a ton of rain in Northern California so the ground was wet and the iron was leaking into the ground. You get a halo effect that runs havoc on detectors. My buddy is a die hard hunter and will dig everything. If it is under a pile of wet dog pooh he will still dig the tone even for a pull tab because he finds a lot of gold. (Wonder if the dog ate a gold ring)?

He had hit the houses the week before without me a true sign of a good hunting partner and found a V nickel and two silver quarters and a ring and a few other nice finds and called me on my cell phone and I told him to get in his truck and head home if he was still my friend and let me meet him the following week. He said yes sir!

So we hit the housing and we were picking some of the nice finds you see in the photo from my last post. We found as the day wore on the ground changed like the sun and time of day would change the targets.

We are going back again for the last time to hit the front lawns and do a little more investagating and see if you can find a new place to hit.
