I got permission sunday afternoon at this large corner lot late 1800's home I have been eyeballing for a long time. Finally caught the homeowner and he gave me permission. what a HUGE let down...I took half a day off work because I was so excited to hunt this place, I envisioned indians and barbers, but walked away almost empty handed.......This place was obviously hunted before. I literally dug every repeatable signal, no matter what depth or what it came up as.

I dug about $3 in clad, pulltabs, can slaw.....6 wheats, a button which I am thinking is a decent one. Not sure, an ID would be great if anyone knows. And luckliy ONE silver dime to keep my streak of silver hunts going. 17 hunts in a row now.

But I am more concerned with the button as I think it is the find of the day for me.

Army infantry for sure...but not sure age, I lost the site that has button age. You can tell by how the button is made. You can google button backs to find out for sure. And as always......SWEET finds Terry!!

I feel confident I found your button in my Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons, by Alphaeus S Albert.
Reference is GI 88 Infantry: 2 piece A-7 "Scovill Mfg Co. Waterbury Ct".
Most of the 2 piece buttons are 20 mm dia and are fairly common.

Nice button.
Could be anywhere from C.W. vintage to Indian War.
Of course surplus dealers had originals for years too; so they could end up on any manner of clothing at anytime.
