Need a "company token" expert .....

Ed SW Fla

New member
Doing some research on tokens found locally here from an old lumber mill called Dowling & Camp, Inc.... locally referred to as Slater Mill .... used to be a town there called Slater, FL.

Here are the tokens issued to the workers to buy goods at the company commissary. Do any of you have a token book that might show todays value of these tokens? I notice every one of the sample tokens have a hole in them. Does the hole mean they were used in trade, then punched, meaning they no longer had trade value? .... Thus thrown away to be hopefully found today?

The mill closed down in the mid 1940's. Here is a photo of the mill site. notice the seperate housing for "colored" vs "white" workers.
