Need advice on Goldquest and Beach Hunter ID

Mr. Bill, I plan on buying my first detector which will be a PI. I will be hunting the NJ shore and need some advice. I have been reading all the material about the Goldquest SS and find it very attractive. I do have my eye on Whites Beach Hunter ID which a dealer in florida has for sale @599.00."a Demo. I checked out the price of the GQ @ 799.00 + phones. I know little about the BHID, it has whistles and bells which is good for a visual learner like myself but as a pro, could you please tell me the major difference between the two. I suspect that if you want to find the gold which most of us do, then you will need a machine that goes deeper. Would you be kind enough to give me some feedback? The $$$ difference between the 2 detectors is it worth it to get the GQ SS? Sorry for the loaded question. Just on a tight budget right now.
Are there any GQ demos? Just kidding. Thanks for your time. Reed

I would go with the Fisher impulse or the White PI detector or even the new Garrett Infinium. When you detect on the beach you should dig every signal. I have passed up a lot of signals and my friend went right behind me and got some coins I passed up because the signal was so weak. I use a Fisher Impulse and I hardly ever miss a coin or jewelry now. I dig all signals. Jsut my 2 cents worth.
Thanks
Emmett

Thank you everyone, I will hold off on the demo and do more investigation. Thanks again.

Mr. Bill can sell you one for around $600, and it's waterproof.
