Need advice on Minelab Explorer SE

Waterdog

Well-known member
I am getting close to getting an Explorer SE and wanted to get some advice on the new digital numbers and what to expect. Anything that could help me out would be nice.
Thanks

Most users use the cross hair ID because it gives a more accurate idea of the target - the digital numbers are great too. Get used to the cross hair method its superb.. Easier to remember where common targets hit on the screen than trying to remember numbers!

Hello waterdog, Hear in Australia I was told that $1 and $2 coins come in at 6-27 and 7-26. I have found that the Ferrous number. is useless and I work on the conductive Number only, but this number can go from 24 to 27. the ferrous number has gone from 3 to 25, so I ignore it. If it double beeps , DIG This is just to say don't rely on the set number, there are too many variables in the equation , type of soil, mineralisation, is the coin on edge, etc. put a coin down and wave the coil over it, and you will see what I mean about double beeping. I started off with a Sovereign Elite for 2yrs and then traded up to the Explorer SE. It took a while and a lot of reading these forums but now I am hooked. After a while you get a 6th sense about the sounds an just know what it is . HH
