General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

Need Compadre Coil

Any size will do as long as it is tuned for a Compadre. I already bought a Tesoro an 8" coil with a 4-pin plug on it that works, but does not work well when I compare it to my other Compadre with the small coil it has.

The Compadre coil is hard wired unless it has been modified with a coil connector....... The Compadre can use any of the Epsilon (5 pin) coils, the 4 pin coil is for the "Hot Series" detectors like the Tejon, Vaquero, Cibola.
 
Hi Arthur,

I've never used a Compadre but I always thought they used the 5-pin coils? In reality when people talk about having their coil tuned to the detector they are actually resetting the internal ground balance to the optimum setting for that size or type of coil. Best of luck and HH!
 
OK guys, I am confused....Does the Compadre use the 5 pin Epsilon coil or 4 pin Delta coil? I have only four wires that are hardwired to the back of the board.
 
All the wires in the cable are not used only 4 of them and it is not a 5 pin nor 4 pin they come hardwired in unless it has been modified
 
You are right...only 4 wires are used, but the coils are different. They differentiate the coils by putting a 4-pin plug on one and a 5-pin plug on the other...where one of the pins on the 5-pin is left "dummy".
I guess I have a 5-pin coil already on my Golden Sabre. I'll try that coil and if it works I will just install a 5-pin connector on the Compadre.
 
yes I just installed a 5 Pin connector set up on my Compadre to use any
