Need F70 advice please...

I got my F70 at the beginning of summer and have used it several times coin hunting and love it . I am finally going to get to use it to relic hunt(civil war) Saturday and I am curious about the settings other people use. I have hunted this area 5 times w/ my AT Pro and rack up every time(Minie balls,buck and ball, percussion caps,button,friction primers..) The soil registers around 87 on the Pro when I ground balance and I am finding everything about 4-6 inches. Hardly any trash at all except for the occasional shotgun shell..Thanks in advance for the info!

Oh man...4-6 inches eh...?...I guess Id start 55 sens, -3 thresh, DE mode, DP tones, 1 disc. If theres a good target in that depth range, you should be fine and dandy...Me and you have the same arsenal regarding gear by the way...I'd use the F70 in a location like this over the Pro. Run it with a higher sens if you want...55 seems really low eh? I dont know, it seems to work very well regarding the tone ids, size and depth of the target. Good Luck and let us know how you do!

That's mild ground. I would try the 10" coil, disc 4, sens. 90, threshold -2, De Mode, tone 1. Runs pretty smooth. I've dug a couple Indian Heads over 8" set this way.

I have an AT Pro and you should be hitting deeper than 4-6"! ... I hit a CV cav belt buckle at 14"..... BUT the F70 should be a BEAST for those relics!

Or try the setting I said and try tone 2h with 0 disc.

I do hit deeper targets but on average the relics I am finding are 4-6 on average..
