need feed back on F2:please:

C.J.M.

Well-known member
Can not seem to be able to find any feedback on the F2,went all the way to 4th page:shrug:Just need a general feed back on this detector,as for depth, how good is disc.,what kHz freq.?Thank you-james

James, I've never owned a f2 but I have read many posts on this forum about that machine and " every " post was positive. I do remember several posts that stated the best bang for your buck and others saying it was very easy to set up and learn.

Depending on your soil can get up to 8" or so with the 8" coil, a little further with the 10" or DD, at least 6" on the sniper or maybe a bit more.
5.9 kHz, seemed pretty darn good at picking up most everything including older coins and jewelry both silver and gold, finds clad like it was a religion with this thing.
Relics too if you roll over them.
Great in disc, unless you hold the pinpoint button down to get to actual all metal disc is all you got.
Ground balance is factory preset.
Can be pretty chatty at some sites like most Fishers because they all seem to come out of the factory way over-powered.
Turn it down if you want it quieter, reducing the sense doesn't seem to lose much depth.
I once picked up a tiny piece of chain with the sniper coil at 5" deep and the sense was on the lowest possible setting.

I used mine for 3 seasons, my $200 investment got me over $2000 back in those three years in clad, old coins and jewelry.
About $1000 in clad and the rest in jewelry...gold jewelry.
The just about free sniper coil in the multiple coil packages.became my prime tool after about 18 months of using the 8", I used the 10" a little but the sniper found me way more than the other two coils put together so I rarely took it off after I saw the beast it turned my F2 into.

I started this hobby with the F2 and never regretted it. I fell in love with that detector.

I think what separates it from the rest of the detectors in this price range is its ability to separate targets and its quick recovery speed. The depth is good, easy setup to start and use, pin-points well, very light weight and batteries seem to last forever.

I may have upgraded to more expensive detectors, but I still keep the F2. It is my backup detector and the one I let guests use, since it is fun to use and does a great job.

If you are just starting to use the F2, do a search such as "digger 27 fisher f2". Digger 27 wrote a lot of posts on using the F2 that helped me get started. That should give you a lot of posts to read. (Just like Revier's posts are helping me with my newly purchased F70.)

Yea, not only did that digger guy know his stuff about the F2 I happen to know that he is a VERY good looking guy!
Don't ask me how I know, let's just say I have access to some exclusive inside information. :look:

Don't believe it for a minute, I have it from reliable sources that Digger27 is just a "wannabe" Revier, and plagiarizes him unmercifully. As far as their looks... well, they're just not my type! :poke:

Puppies and kittens love him...what more proof do you need about just how loveable he is?
As far as plagiarism, he can rip off as much of my stuff as he wants...I just can't stay mad at a nice guy like that.
