hello i own a explorer xs and too use my gray ghost head phones i need a special jack anyone know where i can get one ? thank you

Hi Sasquache-

I have about the same setup as you and found that the adapters don't always work that well. Someone (maybe Minelab?) used to make a small black adapter (about 5 in. x 3 in.) that would attach to the part of the shaft that holds the battery pack. The smaller jack plugged into the machine and a larger jack plug was used for the headphones. This worked well but the plug on my machine eventually went bad. I recently sent it to Minelab and they put in a larger jack plug, replaced the upper clamp that held the upper part to the shaft and gave it a general tuneup for about $55 (including shipping). I haven't got it back yet but I'm sure it will be great. By the way, the folks at Minelab said not to leave the headphones plugged into the machine when not in use. The jacks and plugs are dissimilar metals and you can get a little corrosion that will cause problems between the headphones and the machine (like losing sound periodically).

Happy hunting.
