Need help dating a USMC pendant

Returned to my local park, where I had found a ballet dancer bronze statue.
Got a very strong signal 8-10 inches which reflected like a silver dollar. As I pulled it out, the dollar idea quickly faded. Raised image on the front and little detail on the back.
Had to clean before I could tell it was a USMC pendant.
Any military history buffs out there who could shed a little light on the age. I know that the USN used the logo, FIDELITY ZEAL OBDEDIENCE, located on the back in WW2.
Son-in-law served in the navy, said the pendent is from a USMC good conduct medal. The medal is classified as old, predating 1953.

I don't know how od it is but it is a nice find.
