Need help identifying a button

i found this at a old house site and dont know much about buttons

Most closely resembles a Chief Petty Officers button?

asking for help is a no no sorry mr bill move it if you like

Looks to be a modern blazer button made to resemble a navy button. The rusted away back is a dead giveaway. A button of the time period would most likely have a brass back with a legible back mark.

such buttons are often contemporary 20th century

But the model of the button goes back tot the great world war and specially
to look after between the many models that were used in the German Navy
