New member
Just got this 15 lb.bronze statue of a prospector. this is the 46th statue in my collection.
My question is can anyone identify it?? I can't read the sculptors name on the back and the people I got it from lost the papers some time back in a move. They thought the guys name was Tom?? and was made in Wharton, Neb.
Can't find anything in Wharton, Neb. so I guess I'm at a dead end in trying to obtain info about the sculptor. Anyone out there seen one of these before??
thanks & have a good day

Got a tip on another forum and found the sculptor. It was made by Thomas D. Palmerton in Brownville, NE about 1988, Talked with the gent today.
They were made as an investment piece for a group of Bell Executives and I just happened upon one.

It reminds me of a statue I saw years ago, but it's certainly not the same one. It was called 'Behold the boogar', and the guy was holding up either a boogar or a dingleberry just in that very same manner. Now, being that this statue of yourn is of a gold miner, it is probably a dingleberry.
I hope this helps. :)
