I was out two days ago walking my older dog "Lee". We stopped to take a break on a grassy median between a store and a highway. While stroking my dog"s back the ring came off,I think.We stop here every day. I had my Omega out twice in this area .Cannot find it to save my life. Median is about ten feet by twenty,mostly medium height grass. There are also overhead high-tenson wires as you near the road causing some emf chatter on the Omega. Months ago I air-tested this ring and the reading was 51. The ring is 14kt with a cheaper metal ring keeper on it.My question is, after trying numerous settings on this detector ,can I tune it to find this range only? There is ground chatter from the other stuff that has worked it's way into this area over the years. Any I/P would be greatly appreciately. I have also looked for this on my hands and knees with my Garrett pinpointer to no avail. Thanks Kevin R

You may have not lost it where you think you have. If your sure you have lost it in that area though, then turn your sensitivity way down to the point to where it is right before turning it off. That would ensure you only dig an item that would be on the surface and would also be the least amount of EMI inteterference. Good luck, Tim

I found my ring yesterday,Sunday the12th,22 days after I lost it. It was about 100 ft from this median strip that borders the highway. There was two days of thunderstorms and fairly heavy rainfall that evidently washed this ring into the road .It was about 2 feet from the curb and all the other storm debris was against the curbline. I never gave up looking and yes my dog was with me. Moral to story,who knows. Thanks all for help.
