Found what appears to be a coin in very poor shape. The obverse says Carolus III and the date looks to be 17--? The reverse has a Crown and some symbols below it. Some letters I can read in order are
REX.M.8R.F.M.
The strange thing is it appears to be Silver plated with most of the silver worn off. If you look very close with a magnafying glass you can see very small pits or bubbles in the metal. Found near a house built in 1810 by someone who immigrated from France.
Unable to transfer digital pics yet.
Does anyone have a clue?
Thanks
