Need help with Gettysburg area

Hi all,
I'm going to be in the Gettysburg area for just one day (11/11/05). Is there anyone in the area that can give me a lead on where I might be able to get permission to search for that day? I'd be happier than a pig in slop if I could find a single musket ball.

It turns out the specific place I'll be visiting is the current Hoffman Homes, which USED to be an orphanage. Anyone know if there was any civil war action in that specific area? I MAY be able to get permission to hunt the grounds.
