got a new t se cant get used to the sensitivity and it seems i might as well ignore all signals below 46 as it all seems to be trash, i might be wrong tho,quarters seem to be anywhere around 85 to 87. sometimes the vdi is not accurate Has anyone else experienced this, I thought maybe the sens may be to high for the minerealized ground thanks Jim

Where are you running your sensitivity? How are you ground balancing? I hunt in soil that is moderately mineralized. I am still learning this macine as well. I had my T2se at a public park last weekend with sensitivity set at 60, 3 tone with the stock 11" DD coil. I hit dimes and copper pennies easily at 5 inches, good clear signals even amongst a lot of trash. This is my third Teknetics MD (Delta 4000, Gamma 6000) and I have found that they are very hot machines, the T2 especially. You don't need to crank up the sensitivity. Randy "Digger"Horton described it best when he said that turning up sensitivity can be like driving your vehicle in the fog with the brights on. We all know there is no advantage to seeing any better, in fact you end up getting "feedback" from the brighter light which is blinding. Metal detector sensitivity can be the same way where as too much sensitivity becomes a problem. Hope this helps.
Their on the jumpy side for sure.......... and Id isn't accurate many times...........dead center is required for better accuracy on the swing..
Try a different coil..it's possible you have a bad one... do a air test with different settings and tell us what you have on id and depth reading.

they are a hot machine for sure ,and a lot of it depends on your own experience ,settings ,headphones ,and how much ear bashing you can endure . the quarters are jumping around on the vdi because no target lies in the ground at the perfect angle so the signal is getting deflected/reflected differently .
in all honesty even though i search in the u.k there are different ways to run this machine either nice and calm with the disc up and send down ,or if searching a old site use it as i have been of late sens high at 90 + and disc at around 2 or 3 you will hear everything but the iron growls better at you and the depth is unreal you might need to dig deep to ,i was getting small buttons at around 12 to 15 inches last week

I normally run my T2 @ about 75 and on some occasions upto 80,try and run the disc as low as possible,of course each site can dictate slight adjustments to the baseline setting that i tend to use.
Of course i would not use the settings ultra high when using say my SEF15x12 but when using my Sharpshooter i can crank them up,but usually the TID is not all that bad,of course if it 'bounces' as i call it from say 50-80 then its odds on favourite its iron,but if it gives a good audio then i will dig,also the audio is much more reliable than the TID at depths greater than say 8'',i also find this with my Deus that on the controller when i use it that is,the TID wont show anything on the screen at depth but the audio still gives a decent audio dig sound.
This is why i find it important to have a decent set of headphones so that you can hear those feint deep signals,its all a matter of learning what the machine is telling you,screens can be a good and a bad thing,if you rely solely on a screen you can then make some bad calls on a deep target that could be a lovely coin/artifact.

you didn't say what type hunting you're doing. i got mine originally to be one the technitics/bounty hunter team at the GNRS. now i just clad hunt with it. i just turn it on, set the disc for what i want to hunt and start hunting. quarters are usually 88-89.if they are 85-87 usually there's something else in the hole or close bringing the signal down. 2 quarters will read 90-91. if i hunt tot lots i set the disc. at 40 to get rid of the iron. i have used the ground balance in a long time, couldn't tell any difference.
I have used an upgraded SE for some time now. I hardly ever use the ID numbers but rely on sound. IF YOU GET A GOOD SIGNAL WHEN SWEEPING ON A CROSS METHOD THEN DIG IT!! Of late I have been rather lazy and have been using 2c on my machine you hear far less iron in that mode but still get the good signals even close to iron.The sound is similar to 2+
