Need ID: Battlefield Find

Found this a few weeks ago on a battlefield. I've done quite abit of research, but can't find anything on it. I do distinctly remember seeing an image of this item two times in the past two or three years while researching civil war stuff. This is a three dimensional item. That is, it is complete on both sides. There is a hole to mount it on the lower left bottom. There was likely another mounting hole on the right side of the bottom. On the opposite side the lettering says ?..DOAK. I wonder if it could have been mounted on a guidon or flagpole. Maybe a regimental ornament finial?? Please let me know if you have seen this item or a similar image. Thanks! Ed
