Need info for older Musketeer detector

New member
I own ExplorerII and i would like to buy an older detector for girlfriend just for start in detecting. I found cheap one, seems like older Musketeer model (not XS). Anyone know this model? I could t find any fieldtest for this one. Any info is welcome.

Thank you

There is a Field test on this detector on Lost Treasure On Line, here is the link to the Field test http://www.losttreasure.com/fieldtests/

Just go to the Minelabs and go down the list and this Field test was done back in 1995.
I had one here in my shop and will say it was a very sensitive detector and made more for relic hunting than coin hunting.

Great machine you have there and can still compete with modern machines.
5khz frequency,up to 40 hours from a set of batteries, moisture resistant loudspeaker so it will survive a light shower. Sold in the U.K. as the Tribune so you might find a report under that name. First sold with an elliptical coil here, later models had a 8 inch wide scan.
Best features...very fast shut down speed so you can locate targets very near to trash and a very flexible sweep speed. You pick what suits you.
Minimum discrimination on the European machines cuts out small nails, I assume yours will be the same. Little need to go any higher on old sites. A very successful coin hunting machine in the U.K. and you seem to have picked up a almost mint one. Enjoy it !

It realy seems to be a good machine. I have read a field test and i am suprised about simplicity and depth detection. I will buy it.

Thank you guys for fast responce and great info!
