Need more information

Hello all,

Have been browsing some sales sites and just about on the verge of purchasing a Deus but put it off because I'm not savvy enough to know what to buy because of the options available. There is the basic package for 799 and then three different upgrades that could include backwards headphones or regular headphones. It seems there is a digital readout on the headphones, and a remote. Why all the digital stuff? Are the options necessary? Can you take the 799 unit and use it like a normal detector or does the basic unit limit you and then you're wishing you had the upgrades. Right now I have a Minelab 705 and don't even use headphones.

Have watched some videos, that show taking the digital off the headphones and putting it on a wrist strap, or using the remote strapped on your side. I'd rather have the control box on the handle like a normal machine not mess with some tiny little thing like a watch. I must really be missing something, but was wondering mainly if someone could explain if the basic package is satisfactory. Reluctant to buy accessory I'd not use but also wouldn't want to be limited by not having an accessory.

The minimum I would purchase is a control remote with the 9" coil.
I have a full setup, including the 11" and 11X13" coils.
I use the back phones when hunting parks and just the remote when relic hunting.
Without the remote you would be limited on some settings and you also need a remote to update your Deus.
Just my 2 cents.

All above are right , get the full package, i jumped from a 705 to the Deus and what a difference, so light and once you get use to the programing and the unit being so light you will love it, it loves bottle caps but just wiggle back words and you will hear a buzz and you will know it is a cap not a quarter. They are deep is most programs and are fast and adjustable on the recovery speed.

Thanks all the helpful input. I've also been finding a little more on some of the dealer sites. But I can't find any full package for less than 1450. If anyone knows, of a cheaper price, please pm me.

Call or go see a local dealer. Face to face prices are usually much (10%-15%) better, even if your face to face on the phone.
