Hey guys, would like to here several opinions on these new Excelerator Coils that are out. I know how great the Wot/SunRay Coils are. But, I'm curious about how good, well made, and dependable the Excelerator Line of coils are. Many thanks, LOL/HH.

These folks that use them must by awful young. They brag about digging iron at 12 inches. I complain about digging pennies at 6 inches... <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
I can see some real advantageous though for covering lots of ground.

there are only a few "larger than stock" aftermarket coils available for the MXT. The two brands you mention (Coiltek and SunRay) both make great coils, but none for the MXT. Not yet, anyway. I use the Coilteck WOT on my Minelabs and have the DX-1 probe on my MXT. It is human nature to want to tweak our toys. Adding a big coil to your detector is like putting glass packs and a Holley 4 barrell on your 57 Belair in that it is something you can do yourself that makes you feel like you have improved the performance. Whoops, glass packs and a Holley 4 barrell? Looks like I am one of those old guys too Johnny! HH

I have the 14" Excelerator. It's very sensitive to small objects and the depth is impressive. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I was picking up targets pretty deep. I primarily purchased it to reach below the plow line where I hunt CW relics. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey Digger, you're really showing your age! But, that all right, I'm an OLD FART too! Thanks for your response, hh/lol. Boy, I'd just love to have
a 57 Belair!
