Mother-in-Law is buying me the F75 LTD S/E for my birthday, haven't got it yet, on the list with everybody else so can't fool with the setting. Been reading and watching everything on the net about them and have a couple of questions, I'm using the 1270 and the answer to the question is probably yes, if your in A/M mode is it able and easy to go back and forth from A/M to DISC and Back, I'm sure you can but nothing I read or to a non user explained it and is it as good as they say it is in worked out places.

In either mode, you simply tap the menu "button" and give a quick turn of the knob, and it puts you into the opposite mode (All metal to Disc, or Disc to all metal). There is also a slight delay in the time it takes to "lock" in that new mode, so for example: if you are hunting in Disc mode and want to check a target in all metal, you push the menu button, give the knob a quick turn clockwise, scan your target in all metal, then you can quickly give the knob a quick turn to the left and it puts you back in Disc. If you delay a certain length of time, it will lock into the other mode, and I am not sure what the time span is but you have something like 5 seconds or so. If you switch to All Metal mode this way, after 5 seconds it will stay in all metal, but if you quickly flip it back, you can continue in Disc. This same opperation can be done if you are in all metal as well, and wish to check a target in Disc.
