got a sov.coming next week has a meter but no manual.any hints on setting this meter up ---was told to set a quater at # 180 ??also some tips on setting this sov.for hunting in sanding soil and the beach (salt).appreciate your help.thank you

Yup 180 is correct for a quarter. The Sov. manual will tell you to set it at 170 but that is a misprint. 180 is correct. I don't do beach hunting so can't help you there.

The only beach advice I can give you is To plan on digging some deep deep holes, to recover your Targets. That was my experience with the GT last Summer at the beach.
