Need some prayers for direction..

Pete in MI

New member
our Pastor has been praying over leading an Administrative Team. Sort of a Church Board where the ministry team leaders would meet and share what is going on and the visioning for the future.

Our Pastor has me in mind and has asked me to be in prayer over this. He realizes because we have started a house church up here that I have an insight into how early churches started. His comment "I believe you have a good understanding of the first century church and would be able to help many of the newer Christians grow into positions of responsibility."

I know this is a big undertaking. I will be in prayer and asking that you also ask that God show me the way if this is the position He has set for me to fill.

To even be thought of for such a position certainly makes me know the Pastor has trust in me.

Thanks Brothers and Sisters for praying that God's will be done here on earth as it is in Heaven.

Be in prayer a lot on this one. These are decisions that need to be taken very seriously. I will pray for direction for you!

I worked as a janitor in a church that ran fine with its different committees, then one day the pastor decided we needed a church administrator. After much thought and prayers, the music director, I'll call Ron, was given the title of church administrator. That title went directly to Ron's head and we had a major power struggle. Ron felt he had to know and run every aspect of the church. At least once a week Ron felt he had to remind me that he was the administrator or that he was my boss. Ron eventually drove me out of that church. I found another church to worship in and I finally quit my job there also.
Pete, if you do decide to accept this position, let to Lord guide you in how the church should be run. God Bless.

I went to several United Methodist Church websites to get an idea what the Administrator does. FIguring the higher up 'government' would dictate what the lower level church Administrator's duties are. When it comes to the legal stuff I am not sure about that. I am concerned about 'policy' saying one thing and the Bible another.

If anything that would be what would make or break this for me. The Word is the final say.
